The End is a Grade
The title is only in reference to the end of my Social Media Strategies class. I had walked, as you could see from my graduation selfie, on May 11 of this year. Still, I had two summer classes to take, including COM 3317. Admittedly, at least 75% of the class was the same as Internet Communication, and I’m not going to lie, it drove me insane. Make a professional LinkedIn (I’ve had for years), Twitter, a brand new website from Wix (which I am appreciative of Mimi, mind you, I did need a change), rewrite my resume and cover letter (the latter did need a lot of work). As a student it just gets old, I am not going to lie, having to cross over so many assignments from class to class. Not all is bad though, as you can see. I did learn some important things. I learned the intricacies of Instagram- after never visiting the site- and have created an account for my former job; Camp Dogwood for the Blind and Visually Impaired- look for #officialcampdogwood! I engaged Twitter far, far more often and have actually gotten my impressions (and the occasional engagement) to skyrocket. Twitter is my top advertiser right now; above Facebook.
Could anything be different? I could have learned more about how to get the word out on Facebook a little more than just paying for advertisements, which, while useful, is not that great in the slightest. I’m still learning though, and adapting. It was my first summer class in the entire history of my college career, so I had nothing to go on. It was not a bad class; it was pretty great actually, beyond a few of the repetitive assignments. I hope you have a great life Mimi, and I’m sure your newborn will be as healthy as horse in a loving home. We’ll keep in touch, and at some point, your husband does have a customer out of me.
